The Terraces of Moray
On the way into the sacred valley we stopped off at the Maras salt mine, and on the way back we stopped off at Moray. Like Maras, the ruins at Moray are a hidden gem in the mountains between Cusco and Machu Picchu. The amphitheatre like circular terraces date back to Incan times and are thought to have been used for agriculture.
This is also an amazing spot to take in some of the incredible views of the mountains on the other side of the Urubamba valley.
